Privacy policy

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other servers. Only GitHub, which hosts the pages, receives data about your visit.

§ 1Controller

The controller under the GDPR is kreativ-anders | Manuel Steinberg. Address and contact details are in the imprint (Impressum). You can also write through the contact page.

§ 2Hosting on GitHub Pages

The pages are static files served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When your browser requests a page, GitHub receives technical access data: your IP address, the time, the requested file, the referring page and your browser's user agent. GitHub needs this data to deliver the page and to protect its servers.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to publish this documentation reliably and securely.

We do not receive these server logs and cannot see them. We have no influence on their retention period; GitHub describes it in its General Privacy Statement.

GitHub is based in the United States, a third country under the GDPR. GitHub takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so the transfer rests on the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR).

§ 3Theme setting

The site follows the light or dark setting of your system. If you pick the other theme in the header, your browser saves that choice under the key theme in localStorage on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Picking the theme your system uses deletes it again, and so does clearing the site data in your browser.

Storing the choice is necessary for a function you asked for, so it needs no consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). The search and filters on the checks page run in your browser and store nothing.

§ 5Contact

If you write to us by email or through the contact page, we use your message and contact details only to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message is about a contract. Messages are deleted once your request is settled, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

§ 6Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). This site asks for no consent, so there is none to withdraw (Art. 7(3)).

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one where you live.

To use your rights, write to the address in the imprint. We keep no personal data from visits to this site ourselves. Only GitHub has the server logs, so requests about them are best sent to GitHub as well.
